Bathroom Trends You Need To Know For 2022

The bathroom is a critical part of the home; while we don’t gather for meals and conversation, it is the place we get ready for the day, and one of the last places we go before bed. This means that it should be designed to function in such a way that is beneficial to everyone who uses it. While a bathroom’s primary purpose is to be functional, that doesn’t mean it has to be boring. There are many ways to create a look that represents your unique style and personality, such as through tile and color choices. If you’re considering renovating your bathroom space and giving it some much-needed upgrades and updates, but are lacking inspiration, let us help you. There are several fun and beautiful bathroom trends for 2022. Let’s explore a few of them today.

Vintage elements

Vintage has been trending in the design world for some time, and its charming elements have been making their appearance in every area of the home. From retro to grand millennial, homeowners and interior designers alike have enjoyed finding creative ways to blend some of the past with the new. If you enjoy having a touch of class mixed with your modern conveniences, think about adding a few of these elements to your new bathroom space:

  • Lighting
  • Tile
  • Facets
  • Bathtub
  • Hardware

Turning your bathroom into a classic isn’t as hard as you think. As more companies recognize the appeal of a vintage vibe in their spaces, a wider range of options is now available than ever before. Lighting is an especially beautiful way to add elegance to your bathroom, regardless of its size. From wall sconces with a classic feel to a 1950s chandelier with shimmering crystals, you can capture a little of the past with the right choice of lighting. Varying finishes, such as brass, bronze, copper, and nickel, are a few options for your bathroom faucet that can immediately bring a classic vibe. Hardware is also a great way to incorporate the past with not just a classic finish but in authentic styles such as porcelain or ornate designs. There are also a few fun ways to add a hint of vintage to your bathroom space, such as a nice gold-rimmed mirror that is either round or square, and a nice claw-foot tub!

Bold Color Choices

Color is a crucial element in any interior design project, including bathroom design. It plays a key role in setting the mood for the space, which is why traditional colors such as white and gray have dominated bathroom design for decades; however, this is now changing. Bold color choices are trending for 2022, and that is not just restricted to the kitchen cabinets. Homeowners are increasingly exploring other options for their vanity colors, such as vibrant greens and blues, over the traditional selections. These bold choices can create a unique look and feel for a bathroom space that traditional shades never could. They can give a contrast that looks absolutely stunning, though this tends to work best when paired with white. Beauty and elegance can be achieved by using brighter hues in the bathroom, making it a fun space to be in. Bright pops of color can also create a spa-like atmosphere, such as blues, especially when combined with neutrals like gray and white. There are a few cautions that should be mentioned when considering bold color choices, such as limiting the amount used and the types of colors. Just because a color is bold doesn’t make it the perfect candidate. Orange is a wonderful color, but it can be hard to pair with other colors. Often, the bathroom vanity is the main source of color and should be complemented by the rest of the bathroom elements, such as tile and countertops. If this is not your forever home, it may be wise to opt for a more traditional color scheme to enhance resale value. Bold colors are beautiful when used correctly. Your designer can be of great help in this area.

A Touch Of Nature

Incorporating nature into your home design is a popular trend that is here to stay. As we tend to spend so much time inside rather than out, bringing a bit of nature inside has become a priority for many designers. There are benefits as well as beauty to doing it, and your bathroom can reap both. Some ways to do that include:

  • Pattern
  • Texture
  • Color
  • Material
  • Natural light
  • Plants

Materials tend to be at the top of the list, as a bit of wood or even natural stone not only makes a beautiful statement but also creates a soothing environment, which is the perfect tone for a bathroom. Pattern and texture often work together to evoke a sense of nature, such as backsplashes with bumps or dips and mats made from woven fibers. Whether rough or smooth, whimsical or classic in pattern, this is a great way to weave a bit of nature into your bathroom. Natural light is another essential part; consider a skylight or even a frosted window that allows light in while still maintaining your privacy. Plants are also an option, and since the bathroom tends to be a more humid room, select ones that thrive in that environment and may not require as much sunlight as traditional plants do. Color is, of course, another element of nature, one of its most prominent, so selecting shades such as greens and blues is perfect for giving it an inviting touch.

Spa Like Bathroom Design

The bathroom, especially the master bath, is meant to be a retreat for the homeowners, a place to relax and unwind after a difficult day, which means the design should reflect this with the elements used. Opting for both a walk-in shower and a soaker tub is often the first step taken when redoing a master bathroom, but it is not the only thing you can do to create your own spa retreat. Nature remains one of the key ingredients, either through calm colors or organic materials, such as natural stone. Consider mixing smooth stones in with your regular tile for the walk-in shower to create texture and a calm aesthetic. Details should also not be overlooked and may even be exaggerated slightly, such as a chandelier with glass and metal materials, and wall art with soft patterns or short sayings. These add beauty and are inviting, plus they can amaze the senses, providing you with a wonderful experience. Color will also be a vital part of the design, with pairings of blues and soft grays, as well as whites. Placing these elements together will ensure that you have a bathroom that not only meets your everyday needs but is a place you love going to when you need to just breathe. Bathroom Trends For 2022

Your bathroom is so much more than just a place to freshen up; it is one of the first places you go and often the last place you see yourself before heading out to face the day. This makes it an important part of your home and should be given careful consideration when renovating or redesigning it. Our experienced design team can help you achieve the space you need and deserve. Connect with us today, and let’s get started.

4 reasons to have Window Treatments

Design Notes

Window treatments have made an interesting journey through the years in interior design. From floor to ceiling and mere window length, they have travelled the full circle of style. Today, window treatments can come in a variety of forms and options, plus they do more than just block out the sun; they can finish the look of a room and add the necessary touch that brings out the homeowner’s personality. Windows are our connection to nature and are an essential part of the home, which means they deserve proper consideration and care. They are also an area of the room that naturally draws the eye of the homeowner and guest alike. Most of the time, however, windows tend to be overlooked.

Essential DIY Home Maintenance for Spring

Design Notes

There’s nothing quite like the warm weather and smell of blooming flowers that come with springtime. While you may have grown used to cozying up indoors during the colder months, now you can start spending more time tending to your garden, playing with your kids in the yard, and kicking back on the patio while enjoying the sun.

But in order to fully enjoy your time outside (and potentially save yourself from having to pay for expensive home repairs in the future), you will need to perform some basic home maintenance. To help you get started, here are some key areas to tackle this spring, brought to you by Greenbrook Design.

They needed a place where they could come and explore the possibilities that awaited them for their home renovation. As the idea became a reality, the Walkers realized the added benefit of having more than just cabinets featured in the showroom. Greenbrook Design is proud to be an authorized dealer for not just four lines of cabinetry but multiple home furnishings and decor companies like Europe 2 You and Moe’s. Room For More: Multifunctional Spaces in the Home

Design Notes

We have all witnessed the transformation this past year, bedrooms become offices, kitchen tables become classrooms, and your basement doubles as a home gym. The problem is that most of these spaces were not ready to accommodate double duty. Multifunctional means one area of the home can handle multiple duties, while this sounds great, no one wants it to look like it’s a three-in-one, which is where good design comes into play. Selecting furniture pieces that can serve several purposes or planning a layout that can fulfill multiple needs is key to creating a home that suits your family’s unique lifestyle and routine. Let’s discuss what goes into designing these spaces and how you can make the most of the space you have.

Natures Calm Palette: Connecting with Nature

Life, Styled

Design is more than just creating a layout that is functional and beautiful; it is about turning a house into a home that has an atmosphere just right for you. A functional home is good, but a home where you feel at home is best, which is the end goal for every designer. One way to have a welcoming environment is to draw inspiration from nature, which is a trend that is gaining momentum in the design world.
