Double Take: Dual Concealed Murphy Beds

Designed and crafted by Walker Woodworking, this bonus room features two custom Murphy beds hidden within elegant mirrored glass cabinetry. When closed, the built-ins present as sophisticated furniture pieces, with Rome Deco glass panels and Shelby doors creating a sleek architectural focal point that reflects natural light and enhances the sense of space.

When opened, the cabinetry reveals two full Murphy beds, transforming the room from a bright sitting area into a welcoming guest retreat. The custom cabinetry was designed to integrate seamlessly with the room’s scale and trim details, allowing the beds to disappear effortlessly when not in use.

This installation demonstrates Walker Woodworking’s attention to craftsmanship, thoughtful space planning, and the ability to combine beauty with functionality, creating a flexible room that serves both everyday living and overnight guests.

Gathering Room

The gathering room by Walker Woodworking brings warmth and cohesion to this open floor plan, seamlessly connecting the kitchen and living space. Featuring inset cabinetry in a custom color, the design balances function with a relaxed, welcoming style.

Base cabinets provide generous hidden storage, while open shelving offers the perfect place to display collected pieces, family treasures, and everyday accents.

Thoughtfully designed proportions keep the space feeling open and refined, with 24″ deep base cabinetry for functionality and 15″ deep upper shelving that maintains a light, visually appealing presence.

Step into an efficiently curated pantry, coffee station, and prep area where every inch works beautifully. Inset cabinetry is elevated with glass fronts featuring AGE English Flemish wire mesh and Van Dyke crimped wire grills, adding texture and visual interest.

A brass-tone matte black ladder rail offers the perfect spot to store seasonal items, while interior roll-outs provide easy access and organization. Vented cutouts add both function and subtle detail, blending practicality with design. Soft puck lighting completes the space—ideal for those late-night coffee moments.

Designed to make the most of a narrow footprint, this space keeps everything within reach of the kitchen. And for iced coffee lovers, an ice maker and refrigerator drawers ensure your essentials are always chilled and ready.

Media Room & Bar

A walk down the stairs into a perfectly designed retreat. This custom home has it all, including a media room bar by Walker Woodworking, crafted for both function and fun, with inset cabinetry in quarter-sawn white oak and a custom finish that brings warmth, texture, and timeless craftsmanship to the space.

Every detail is thoughtfully considered, from the Native Trails Cabana apron-front sink to the microwave drawer, roll-out base cabinets, panel-ready dishwasher, refrigerator drawers, and ice maker. Even the decorative metal air return integrates seamlessly into the design, proving that practical elements can be just as beautiful as they are functional.

Whether it’s hosting sleepovers, taking a break between ping pong matches, or enjoying easy conversation gathered around the bar, this space is always ready for a good time.

Eagle’s Nest Library

Unique Feature

Modern spiral staircase with light wood treads and sleek black metal railing

Tucked at the top of a spiral staircase, this eight-sided reading nook turns an awkward space into something really special. Surrounded by windows, it’s filled with natural light, while books are stored horizontally along the upper walls—stacked in a way that creates a crown-like effect wrapping the entire space. It’s equal parts storage and statement.

This was one of those areas that gave designer Taylor Walker-Craft and the team at Walker Woodworking the freedom to get creative, and it shows. The result is a cozy, tucked-away retreat that feels peaceful, a little unexpected, and perfect for slipping away with a good book.
