Remodel Project – Asheville, NC
Walker Woodworking
Objective: Design an open kitchen with a wood that ties into the living room.
The open kitchen blends in seamlessly with the stunning living room, whose focal point is definitely the wood wall over the fireplace, custom-built out of rustic hickory veneer. There is no doubt as to the many memories that will be made in this beautiful home.
Kitchen Perimeter
Build Method – Frameless cabinets – Slab doors
Perimeter – BM Decorators White – Satin
White kitchens remain a popular color choice for cabinets, but many have been paired with a warm wood to help add a sense of warmth and welcome to the heart of the home. There is ample storage behind these classy slab-style doors, along with a coffee area, walk-in pantry, and a wet bar off to the side with a wine cooler.
Appliance panels are applied to the 48-inch refrigerator for a seamless, clean, desired look.
Kitchen Island
Island: Rustic Hickory Veneer – Dark Walnut stain
Build method: Frameless cabinets by Walker Woodworking
Wood and white remain a popular combination, and for good reason. The wood brings the warmth and beauty of nature indoors, while the classic white creates a timeless look. The homeowners choose to utilize a rustic hickory veneer throughout the home, which instantly ties the multiple areas together and creates a lovely harmony enjoyed by everyone.
Bathrooms
Objective: Design bathrooms that provide ample storage and with warm wood tones that create a welcoming atmosphere.
While much of the style is the same, the homeowners chose to create a distinct difference between their guest and master bathroom by selecting a unique wood for their retreat. Their choice of zebrawood veneer resulted in a bathroom that is nothing short of stunning. Both of them also enjoy not only having their own his and her spaces but separate vanities entirely, which ensures ample room when using them. Her vanity also boasts something special: custom dividers for her makeup and hygiene items, plus extra storage from the cabinet that extends to the ceiling.
Their guests will not feel neglected in their bathrooms either, with the rustic hickory veneer that immediately creates a welcoming atmosphere. The dark hardware was the perfect choice along with the lighter countertop to complete this space.
