Luxury Lake living – 1940’s Home Renovation

1940’s Renovation – Lake Wylie

Objective:

The objective of this renovation was to thoughtfully modernize the historic c. 1941 Johnson–Belk residence while preserving the timeless character and architectural integrity that make the home such a treasured Lake Wylie landmark. The design approach focused on bridging the charm of the original summer-lodge aesthetic with the functionality and conveniences expected in modern luxury living.

Key improvements included a complete kitchen renovation featuring custom cabinetry, enhanced organization, and increased storage capacity throughout the home. Supporting spaces such as the laundry room and dry bar were redesigned to provide elevated functionality, efficiency, and seamless integration with the home’s overall aesthetic.

By introducing updated amenities, refined finishes, and improved spatial performance, the renovation enhances everyday luxury living while honoring the history, warmth, and legacy surrounding the iconic Belk Home.
