Remodel Project – Charlotte, NC
Objective: Design an open kitchen in a monochromatic color scheme with all functional elements tailored to the family’s needs.
In this Charlotte, NC kitchen remodel, the design team embraced a monochromatic white palette to craft a serene and cohesive environment. By utilizing varying shades and textures of white, they achieved a harmonious balance between modern minimalism and timeless elegance. This approach not only enhances the visual spaciousness but also provides a versatile backdrop for the family’s daily activities
Kitchen Perimeter
Kitchen Perimeter—Inset Painted SW Pure White (Satin Sheen)
The perimeter cabinetry, finished in classic Sherwin-Williams Pure White with a satin sheen, offers timeless elegance and seamless integration throughout the space.
On the range wall, thoughtful storage solutions enhance both beauty and function: a built-in knife block, utensil divider, and utensil pull-out keep cooking tools within easy reach, while a dedicated spice pull-out ensures quick access to seasonings. A custom silverware drawer adds to the organizational flow, making this kitchen as efficient as it is inviting.
Kitchen Island
Kitchen Island—Inset Painted SW Pure White (Satin Sheen)
This spacious island, finished in Sherwin-Williams Pure White with a soft satin sheen, serves as the heart of the kitchen. Designed for both functionality and style, it features generous seating and prep space—perfect for gathering with family and friends during meal prep or casual entertaining.
Custom-built-ins include a pull-out for pans and tin foil, a double trash pull-out for easy cleanup, a concealed dishwasher with matching paneling, and a hidden paper towel pull-out to keep surfaces clutter-free while maintaining a clean, cohesive look.
Unique Features
Features in the Monochromatic Kitchen
This stunning kitchen has numerous functional elements woven throughout that help this family keep the heart of the home organized with ease. Having a beverage cooler nearby means a drink is always on hand, and finding a glass to use is conveniently close. Puck lighting in the upper cabinets beautifully highlights the glass doors, and under-cabinet lighting eliminates those troublesome shadows that can make it hard to see when working in the kitchen. The elegance of this kitchen design seamlessly integrates with the rest of the open concept, making it a central hub for everyone.
