Objective:

To create cohesiveness throughout the house, the homeowners and designer incorporated several “stations” accentuating the hardworking and highly functional kitchen that surrounds it.

Kitchen Island

Overall, the homeowners wanted the kitchen design to be rustic but not too country. For contrast, we suggested knife cut beadboard to enhance the warmth and texture in the rustic kitchen. The beadboard is finished differently with a blackwash rub-through in a flat finish. You will see the beadboard along the back of the coffee station and the island. This look adds a farmhouse feel to the rustic setting.

In addition to the kitchen, the rustic aesthetic extends into a dedicated adult beverage station featuring a wine refrigerator, liquor storage, an ice machine, a wine rack, and glass-front cabinetry for easy access to stemware. Large peg-style drawers provide organized storage and separation, helping prevent glassware breakage while maximizing functionality.
