Bathroom Remodel Project – 1941 Georgian architecture

The master bathroom should be your sanctuary, as stylish as it is soothing.

Objective: Create a functional and efficient space with a large shower, enclosed toilet room, her vanity, and his closet. The design blends traditional style to honor the home’s history while incorporating smart storage solutions for beauty and practicality.

Hidden cedar lined closet

Comments from the homeowner –

“Storage was a top priority in this redesign. We added a cedar-lined wardrobe for my husband’s suits and shoes—because closets aren’t just for the ladies anymore! With all his wool suits, cedar was essential for moth control. Vanessa and I even inventoried his shoes, shirts, and suits to create a space tailored to him, right down to a hidden pullout hamper to keep things neat and out of sight.”

Q & A with the homeowner’s

List 3 “must-haves” for your project.

  1. Separate toilet room.
  2. Large walk-in, zero-threshold shower with rain shower and jets. Zero-threshold not only looks better—more seamless – it is also great for when we get older, as it is ADA compliant. The shower doors/windows go all the way to the ceiling so that the effect of a steam shower is created.A separate fan in the shower eliminates the moisture and steam after the shower.
  3. Space for 2 people to stand at the mirror at the same time. I did not want two sinks because it is just another sink to clean every week.
  4. There was a 4th “must have,” and that was a full closet for my husband. There is only one medium-sized closet in the master bedroom, so another closet was a requirement.

The Vanity

“The layout we ended up with is really perfect. All of our wish list items got incorporated.”
