New Construction – Kings Mountain, NC
From kitchens to bathrooms, this home’s rustic appeal makes it a place that takes a step back in time but comes with all the comforts of the 21st century.
The rustic home feel draws us back to a quiet time, one that is both charming and inviting. This project has all of these elements and more. The warmth of the logwood walls pairs perfectly with the soft blue cabinets, and the strong contrast of the dark kitchen island completes the look. The cozy feel that the logs give carries over to the master bathroom, giving the owners a unique space they can really enjoy.
Kitchen Perimeter
Objective: To design a kitchen that integrates with the log cabin walls and feel of the home.
This kitchen was designed to integrate seamlessly into the logwood walls, requiring custom cabinet installation. To balance the natural wood tones, a soft blue was chosen for the perimeter cabinetry and black for the island, with coordinating hardware that mixes finishes while maintaining a unified style. Thoughtful lighting—under-cabinet, recessed, and pendants—ensures the space is warm and functional. Frosted glass doors add contrast against the log backdrop, while ample storage, an open-shelved pantry, and two live-edge tables with rustic seating complete the design. The result is a welcoming space that feels timeless, inviting, and perfect for gathering.
Kitchen Island
Island: A focal point of the room, finished in black rubbed-through with large deep frameless drawers. Framed with Timberwolf posts, it houses the cooktop and microwave while standing out beautifully against the log cabin walls.
Bathrooms
Objective: Create bathrooms that are functional and blend with the rustic log cabin style.
Master Bathroom – Walker Woodworking
Soft gray cabinetry in Benjamin Moore Gray Huskie with a Black Amazing III glaze is the perfect complement to the warm wood walls in this stunning retreat. Built with an inset style, the design features decorative bun feet, elegant corbels, and Top Knobs Chalet hardware in Sable. The his-and-her sinks offer individual space with a tall cabinet, drawers, and under-sink storage in an asymmetrical layout. A large, fully tiled walk-in shower with seating and custom lighting is tucked neatly to the side, completing the spa-like feel.
Guest Bathroom – Cabico Essence
Frameless maple cabinetry in the rich Ethiopia finish creates a warm, modern feel. A Colonial White countertop with a half bullnose edge adds a classic touch, while Berenson Rhapsody hardware in black provides bold contrast and a refined finish. Compact yet functional, the guest bath provides ample storage and counter space—perfect for keeping essentials handy and offering extra towels for visitors.

Dog Room – Walker Woodworking
The homeowners wanted their log cabin to reflect their lifestyle, so they included a custom dog room designed for both practicality and fun. Frameless cabinetry finished in a bold Tomato Red with heavy Lamp Black glaze makes the space lively, while built-in features like a shampoo sink, trash pull-out, and dog food pull-out keep daily tasks simple. A beverage refrigerator ensures extra drinks are always on hand for guests, adding even more function. Top Knobs Aspen hardware in Medium Bronze completes the look, blending charm and utility in a space tailored to meet the family’s specific needs.
Unique Features
The frosted glass front cabinet doors stand out against the cabin wall and make a beautiful look in the kitchen. One bonus area is the additional seating around the two unique live-edge tables. Surrounded by several chairs that have a rustic feel and vibe to them. Who wouldn’t want to come for a visit? There is also ample storage in the open-shelved pantry along with additional cabinets, which are perfect for keeping larger items like crock pots and serving platters.
