Walnut Island makes a Statement

Remodel Project – Charlotte, NC

This U-shaped kitchen faces the dining and living area of the home, making it essential that it matches the overall design style. White cabinets were the go-to choice, but the walnut island was made the focal point by using walnut wood. Some additional elements included glass front cabinets and LED lighting. Together, these things combine to create a warm and inviting heart of the home.

Kitchen Perimeter

A Kitchen Designed for Connection

This thoughtfully designed kitchen invites connection, seamlessly opening to the dining room and offering a sightline to the front door—perfect for gatherings and everyday living.

Elegant upper cabinets feature chinchilla glass doors illuminated by subtle LED lighting, adding a refined glow. Inside, smart storage solutions like roll-out pantry drawers, adjustable shelves, and tray dividers enhance both function and ease.

The cabinetry showcases our Shelby door style, beautifully finished with Schaub satin brass hardware for a timeless, sophisticated touch.

Kitchen Island

A Walnut Island That Steals the Spotlight

The eye is instantly drawn to the stunning island, expertly crafted from naturally stained walnut and framed by the surrounding crisp white perimeter cabinetry. Its warm wood tone brings depth and richness to the space, creating a beautiful contrast that defines the heart of the kitchen.

Built in the elegant Shelby door profile, the island showcases clean lines and timeless detail, while offering a wealth of function beneath its striking surface. Practical features include a double trash pull-out, a dedicated silverware drawer, hidden outlets for small appliances or charging needs, and a seamless frameless construction that maximizes interior storage space.

Unlike the satin brass hardware featured on the perimeter, the island is fitted with Schaub hardware in a bold matte black finish. This intentional contrast is more than a stylish twist—it’s a design-forward decision that proves mixing metals can elevate a space and highlight key elements. The matte black finish anchors the island as a focal point while adding modern sophistication to the overall palette.
