The moment you’ve been waiting for is here—your cabinets are ready to be installed! We know this is an exciting step in your project, and you may have questions about what to expect. Below are answers to our most frequently asked questions to help you feel confident and prepared.
If anything isn’t covered here, please don’t hesitate to contact your designer directly.
Who will be installing our cabinets?
The skilled team at Walker Woodworking handles all Greenbrook Design cabinet installations. Our installation crew is highly trained, detail-focused, and efficient. Each team consists of a lead installer and an assistant, who arrive in branded shirts so you can easily identify them.
What time will the installers arrive?
Our team typically leaves the shop in Shelby, NC, around 8:00 a.m. Arrival time at your home may vary depending on traffic and location.
How long does installation take?
Every project is unique. Installation time can vary based on the size of the job, number of rooms, and site conditions, such as wall or floor levelness. On average, a kitchen installation takes about 3–4 days to complete.
Why does installation take several days?
Our crew carefully levels, squares, and custom-fits each cabinet to your space. Because most walls, floors, and ceilings aren’t perfectly square or level, this step takes time but ensures a precise and beautiful final fit.
What should we do before installation day?
To help things run smoothly, please make sure of the following before our team arrives:
- The area is clear and free of debris.
- The flooring is fully installed (unless discussed otherwise).
- Floors are clean and dust-free, especially wood flooring.
- Appliances are disconnected and removed from the area.
Why should no other subcontractors be onsite?
While our team works well with others, we ask that no other subcontractors be present during installation. Cabinet installation requires significant space for tools, saws, and storing cabinetry. Sharing space can slow down progress and impact precision.
Do we need to be home during the installation?
We understand how exciting this phase is! However, our installers do their best work when they have space and minimal distractions. We kindly ask that you trust their expertise and allow them to work without supervision.
What will we see during the installation?
You’ll see your dream kitchen take shape! Please note that things like cabinet door alignment may not be finalized until the very end to ensure uniformity. The space may look nearly complete before it is, so expect minor adjustments until the final day.
What happens if there’s an issue during installation?
With over 20 years of experience installing thousands of custom kitchens, you’re in great hands! If any issues arise, your designer and our Install Manager will work together to address and resolve them quickly. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with concerns.
What if we want to make changes after installation?
Your satisfaction matters to us. Contact your designer to discuss what’s possible if you’re considering a change. Some changes are simple; others may require additional materials or labor. We’re happy to provide an estimate for any additional work.
Will the cabinets be cleaned after installation?
Our installers clean the job site each day before leaving. On the final day, if space allows, they’ll vacuum inside the cabinetry to remove dust. You’ll still want to give everything a final wipe-down before loading in your items.
