Luxury Mirrored Cabinets: An Opulent Kitchen Featuring Mullion Mirror Island and Walnut Cabinetry

Remodel Project – Waxhaw, NC

Custom Kitchen Design

This exceptional kitchen was a collaborative design by Leah Heinsius of KBL Designs and Taylor Walker with Greenbrook Design, blending innovative design with master craftsmanship. This design was created to combine luxury and everyday practicality, making it a dream space for both cooking and gathering.

The natural light floods this kitchen beautifully, highlighting every exquisite detail. The large windows create an airy, open feel, enhancing the warm tones of the custom walnut cabinetry by Walker Woodworking with its Rubio Chocolate finish.

The upper cabinets, painted in Sherwin Williams Alabaster, provide a stunning contrast, adding brightness and balance to the space. Paired with champagne bronze hardware, this kitchen exudes both elegance and warmth, making it truly inviting.

Kitchen Perimeter

The Shelby Door Profile

Balance between aesthetics and functionality is what you will find in this kitchen design. The large windows bring in natural light, while the strategically placed cabinets ensure ample storage despite the absence of upper cabinetry on the sink wall.

The range area is well thought out, with spice and utensil storage nearby for effortless cooking. The small cabinet doors concealing a quartz countertop create a tidy space for small appliances, keeping the kitchen clutter-free.

The massive hood serves as both a focal point and a statement piece with the walnut crown, blending seamlessly into the perimeter design. Push latches provide easy access while maintaining clean lines. Additionally, bi-fold doors offer flexibility—open for convenience, closed for a sleek and seamless appearance.

The perimeter base cabinets custom-made by Walker Woodworking, feature an inset design with a standard sheen, showcasing the rich beauty of Rubio Chocolate-stained cabinetry. Thoughtfully integrated design elements—such as a paper towel drawer, double trash pull-out, and paneled dishwasher—ensure both functionality and a seamless, cohesive aesthetic throughout the kitchen.

Kitchen Island
