Kitchen & Living Room:
A Space That Brings People Together
Kitchen Island
Quarter Sawn White Oak, T-shape Island Design
Build method: Inset
The newly popular island design has revolutionized the way people utilize their kitchen spaces, making it simple to incorporate the island as a dining area as well. This multifunctional approach is especially attractive to homeowners who want to maximize the use of their kitchen while creating a welcoming atmosphere for family and guests.
When these homeowners began the process of designing their dream home, they knew that a large kitchen island was a must-have feature. Not only does it provide ample counter space for meal prep, but it also serves as a social hub where family members can gather. This central feature quickly became the focal point of the kitchen, drawing attention and fostering conversation.
The spacious design of the island ensures that there is always plenty of room for everyone at the table, making it an ideal spot for casual meals, entertaining friends, or simply enjoying a morning coffee. This harmonious blend of functionality and style has made kitchen islands an essential element in modern home design, allowing for both comfort and practicality in the heart of the home.

Unique Features
The brass hardware perfectly complements the warm quarter-sawn white oak cabinets in this kitchen and adds just the right touch to the design. The homeowners included several things in this space that increased the functionality and suited their unique needs. Drawers were chosen over lower cabinets to give the homeowners more space and easier access to the items. Two dishwashers were installed to allow the homeowner the convenience of simply transferring the clean to the dirty and vice versa (smart thinking!). The t-shaped island doubles as an extra table when all the family gathers and provides additional storage. There is also a multifunctional scullery kitchen space off the side, including a wine cooler, more storage, an ice maker, and a coffee station. The kitchen is the heart of the home and has a lot of heart.
