This 1940’s Myers Park home was a multi-room renovation which included a complete kitchen, master bath, and two bathrooms. In collaboration with the contractor, Guthmann Construction, the intent with this renovation was to bring the house into the 21st century, but not change the footprint or style of the home.
Kitchen
Objective: To make the walkway less tight, to give it more function and storage, and to update the appliances and finishes.
The previous kitchen was not the original but was 30-40 years old. We shifted the island toward the breakfast area and did a banquette to accommodate seating. The windows in the kitchen and breakfast area were all enlarged and lowered to bring more light into the space. We moved the cooktop from the island and made a range wall so the homeowner would have more workspace on each side of the appliance. The stunning walnut hood and Blue River Granite countertops from AGM Imports were the standout features in the room.
