Nature’s Color Palette

Nature’s colors and textures always create a warm and inviting environment, which is why so many designers incorporate them into their homes. Warm wood tones, exposed brick, and natural light blend in this project to form a space welcoming to the whole family.

Kitchen, Family Room, & Drop Zone

Objective:  Design spaces that tied together with similar elements but had their style.

The eye is naturally drawn to the light, warm tones of the exposed brick that also serves as the backsplash for the kitchen. The gorgeous custom island, made from white oak with a linseed finish, adds another level of beauty to this space, not to mention functional with the additional storage space under the seating area. The contrasting soft white cabinets add more visual interest as well. One highlight of this kitchen area is the addition of the custom banquette seating, which is well-lit by the three large windows, allowing lots of sunlight to pour in. Cozy and relaxed are two words that perfectly summarize this space, making it the place to gather with family at any time of the day.

Reclaimed wood is a theme throughout the home and can be beautifully seen in the custom shelves built by Walker Woodworking in their family room. They pair so well with the additional built-ins and cabinets along the wall.

The family also chose to include a custom drop zone, which means the items they use most when coming and going stay conveniently near the front door but in an orderly way.

Master Bedroom & Bathrooms

Objective:  Create spaces that are open and inviting.

The James Martin vanities make a beautiful statement in the master bathroom, with each person getting their own space, making morning routines super easy. Walker Woodworking used its magic to create a custom vanity for the power room drawn from an inspirational photo. The master bedroom’s sunroom also enjoyed the benefits of custom cabinets with dog beds. The warm tones of the design are also seen in this area of the home, bringing everything together in unison.
